Michael D. Kotler, M.D. (Founder, Chief Medical Officer): Dr. Kotler, trained at the University of Miami and began his career in Emergency Medicine in South Florida. In 1991, he moved to Louisiana as the Regional Medical Director for InPhyNet Medical Management for the Southeast United States. In 2000, he opted to take the entrepreneurial route and founded Pelican State Outpatient Center, a revolutionary concept in health care delivery. Since then, Pelican has been at the forefront of both Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care by serving over 20,000+ patients every year and has consistently been recognized for its excellence. Dr. Kotler’s expertise in handling occupational medicine cases accorded him a distinguished reputation which led to the founding of RemoteMD to deliver an assortment of medical services to remote industrial environments worldwide. In addition to providing medical care, Dr. Kotler serves on teaching faculty at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and serves as the Program Director for OccuMedics, a course he developed to train Industrial Remote Environment Medical Specialists (IREMS). Moreover, Dr. Kotler is Medical Director at Plaquemines Medical Center in Port Sulphur, LA, where he has been instrumental in bringing quality health care to Plaquemines Parish.
